MOUNTAINEER ROCKIES & RAIL 8 DAYS
This
tour covers the states of British Columbia and Alberta
of Canada. The tour starts with a guided tour of Victoria
and Vancouver. We enjoy a scenic train ride through
the Canadian Rockies. This short tour covers Mount
Robson, Icefields Parkway, Athabasca Glacier, Lake
Louise, Bow Falls and the Tunnel Mountain in Banff.
This tour can be clubbed with an Alaska Cruise.

THE TOUR FEATURES |
Day
01 : Vancouver at Leisure
On arrival Vancouver Airport please make your own way
to your hotel*, located in the heart of the downtown
shopping and entertainment district. After checking
in, the remainder of the day is at leisure. There is
much to discover in this cosmopolitan city. It offers
a waterfront, mountains, shopping and entertainment.
Your Tour Director will meet you this evening in the
hotel lobby to welcome you and share information about
the tour and especially your schedule for the next two
days. (* we can book the hotel for you) |
Day
02 : Vancouver at Leisure
The day is free to relax, shop or explore on our own.
Perhaps join an optional full day excursion to charming
Victoria on Vancouver Island, which also includes a
visit to the famous Butchart Gardens. |
Day
03 : Vancouver Sun Peaks
Today we begin with a sightseeing tour of Vancouver,
including many landmarks such as Gastown and Stanley
Park. Then we drive along the rugged Fraser River Canyon
to the town of Hope, and arrive afternoon at our overnight
destination, the beautiful resort of Sun Peaks. |
Day
04 : Sun Peaks Jasper
We travel north past white fenced ranches and the snow
capped peaks of the Columbia Mountains. We continue
along the Yellowhead Highway and view Mount Robson,
the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. This afternoon
we reach Jasper national Park, Where we have a good
chance to see some of the local wildlife. |

05 : Jasper Banff
This morning we drive along the world famous Ice fields
Parkway which meanders along the river banks of the
valley floor. As we continue through rugged terrain
we pass picturesque snowy mountain peaks. Enjoy the
views of the Columbia Ice fields, seeing the Athabasca
Glacier which stretches for many miles. One of the highlights
today is a ride on the side of the glacier abroad a
'Snowcoach'. Later there is time for a relaxing stroll
along Lake Louise before continuing onto Banff for two
nights. |

06 : Banff Sightseeing
Today our sightseeing tour of Banff includes views of
Bow Falls and Tunnel Mountain. This afternoon is at
leisure, with a chance to relax and soak up the beautiful
surroundings. For the adventures, why not join an optional
raft trip on the Bow River? Or perhaps an optional helicopter
ride takes you up for a panoramic view of the mountains
around you. |
Day
07: Thu Rocky Mountaineer Train Kamloops
This morning we board the famous Rocky Mountaineer Train
for a day of marvelous scenic views. We travel through
the Canadian Rockies and see majestic mountains, snow
capped peaks, forests, and lakes en route to our overnight
destinations, Kamloops. The train service over the next
two days includes assigned seating, a selection of breakfasts
and lunches served on board, and complimentary snacks
and soft drinks served at our seats. The friendly and
knowledgeable staff will look after us during these
two days on board the train. This evening we are transferred
to our hotel in Kamloops. Tonight, perhaps join an optional
excursion to see a show in Kamloops. (L) |
Day
08 : Kamloops Rocky Mountaineer Train Vancouver departure
This morning we are transferred back to the train station
to reboard the Rocky Mountaineer Train. Today's scenery
is different, but no less impressive and scenic. We
relax in our comfortable seats and enjoy your continental
breakfast as the train heads towards Vancouver. Lunch
will also be served en route, and again the staff will
be on hand to answer questions and point out particular
landmarks. This afternoon we approach the coastal areas
and arrive into Vancouver's train station where out
tour ends at approximately 5:00 pm. Please make your
own departure arrangements for the transfer from the
train station to the airport. We recommended that you
spend a post-tour night in Vancouver before traveling
on. If you wish to leave from Vancouver today your flight
should not be scheduled before 8:00 pm. (C, B, L) |
