Sri
Lanka the resplendent isle.Famed for its natural wealth and
abundance of tropical forests this wonderful island has twenty
five thousand square miles of enchanting diversity with sun
drenched beaches, dense primeval jungles and hills. The population
though predominantly Sinhalese also has a sizeable Tamil influence
and both the cultures are visible in the historical monuments,
temples and also in the majestic ruins of ancient civilizations.
One cannot fail to notice the lush green tea plantations as
well as the precious stone mines all existing within a mosaic
of mysterious beliefs and rituals.

Day
01 : Colombo - Kandalama (D)
Arrive Colombo International Airport. Upon arrival
you will be met and transferred to your hotel
in Kandalama. En route visit The Elephant orphanage
at Pinnawela which is the home to about 60 Elephants
found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. Drive
to Dombulla. After at leisure. Dinner and overnight
at hotel. |

02 : Kandalama - Kandy (B,D)
After breakfast visit the 5th century Sigiriya
Rock Fortress which is also a world heritage site.
(Built by King Kasiappa 473 -491 AD). The “Lion
Rock “ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200
Mts. from the scrub jungle. The Rock was the innermost
stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. The
base of the rock is ringed by a Moat, Rampart,
and extensive gardens including the renowned water
gardens (visit the world renowned frescoes of
the “Heavenly Maidens” of Sigiriya which are in
a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a
spiral stairway. Epigraphic evidence refers to
the existence of 500 such portraits, but only
19 remain today. Proceed to Kandy, the last capital
of Sri Lankan Kings. Enroute visit a spice garden
and Batik factory in Matale. In the afternoon
visit Dalada Maligawa where the Sacred Tooth Relic
of the Buddha is enshrined. Also visit the Kandy
Market and Bazaar and drive around the Kandy Lake.
In the evening enjoy a cultural show. Dinner &
overnight at hotel. |

03 : Kandy - Nuwara Eliya (B,D)
After breakfast visit Kandy town, the Bazaar,
the Arts & Craft Centre and a Gems Museum
and Lapidary Also visit the Botanical Gardens
in Peradeniya, first built as a pleasure garden
by a Sinhala King. It is 147 acres in extent and
provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and
flowers. In the afternoon proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
Enroute visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory.

Day
04 : Nuwara Eliya - Bentota (B,D)
Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain
climate and scenery is Sri Lanka's most popular
hill resort, with a fine bracing mountain climate.
It is also the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country
producing a fair share of the world's best tea.
Sri Lanka's highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282
ft.) is located here. Nuwara Eliya also has one
of the finest 18 hole Golf courses in South Asia
After breakfast drive to Bentota, one of the best
beaches in Sri Lanka. Enroute visit Kitulgala.
Kitulgala was the main location where the Oscar
winning movie " Bridge on the River Kwai " was
filmed. Also visit two waterfalls St. Claire &
Devon. Dinner & Overnight at hotel. |

05 : Bentota (B,D)
After breakfast rest of the day is at leisure

06 : Bentota - Colombo (B,D)
After breakfast we drive to Colombo. Afternoon
half day city tour. Visit a casino, Odel Unlimited,
Ceramic Showrooms, Majestic City and Liberty Plaza
Shopping Complex, the residential areas, the BMICH,
the New Parliament in Sri Jayawardenapura and
the Old Parliament in Fort and The Folk Art Centre.
Also you have time to shop at the Pettah Bazaar.

07 : Colombo - Departure (B)
After breakfast transfer to airport to connect
your flight to onward destination. |
